How do I report a missed pickup?
Missed pickups are rare but sometimes unavoidable. If this happens, please call our office and the representative will arrange to have your service rescheduled within 1-2 business days.
When should I have my cart out?
Please place your cart at the curb the night before your scheduled service day or by 6:00am on the day of your scheduled service.
How to pay my bill
You may pay your bill online with a Visa, MC, American Express, or Discover card, or by debit card. Visit our Pay My Bill page for more information. There is no fee for this payment method. You may also make one-time payments on the website. If you would like to pay by phone, there is a $10.00 fee.
Can placement – container instructions
Place carts curbside with the wheels facing the house. If you have more than one cart, place them side by side no closer than 2 feet to each other.
Placement instructions are also on the lid of your cart.
Common Garbage Can Placement Problems
Stacked Garbage Cart Placement.
Your containers should be placed at the curb side by side. Stacked containers can cause delays and missed pick ups.
Backward Garbage Cart Placement
The wheels on your cart should face the home. The front of your container has a metal bar that needs to face the street and be accessed by the garbage truck.
Too Close Garbage Cart Placement
Your containers should be approximately 2 feet apart for driver access. The space also allows for the mechanical arms on our trucks to reach between the containers.

How to request a replacement cart?
If your cart is stolen or damaged, you may request a replacement by calling our office at 240-795- 2501 or using our Contact Us Form. A replacement fee of $75.00 will apply.
Do you pick up bulky items?
We do not pickup bulk items. Please contact your local municipality for instructions on Bulk item pickups.
What size cans are available?
96 Gallon Carts are provided to our customers.
Can I have more than one cart?
Yes, you may have more than one cart. However, to avoid unnecessary charges, please call our office at 240-795- 2501 and speak with one of our experienced representatives who can help you decide on exactly what you need.
What can't I put in my trash?
Items NOT allowed include
- Paint
- Batteries
- Aerosols
- Large Appliances
- Motor Oil
- Auto Parts
- Medical Waste
- Construction
- Materials & Debris

What if my service is stopped for non-payment?
If the account becomes seven (7) days in arrears, your account will be placed in “STOP SERVICE” status. You MUST USE OUR CONTACT FORM to re-activate your account and pay any balance due at that time. There are no credits issued during the time your account is on “STOP SERVICE”. Once payment has been made and your account is current, all trash that has accumulated during this time will be removed on your next scheduled day. If you are once a week pickup, your next pickup will be the following week. If you are twice a week pickup, your pickup will be on your next scheduled day.
There is a $25 restart fee.
Do you have a referral program?
YES! If you live in a development, neighborhood, or simply have friends or neighbors that are looking for trash removal service, please have them give us a call at 240-795- 2501. Ask them to mention your name and for every new customer we acquire from your referral, we will credit one mouth free to your existing account, with many thanks for referring us. We can also supply you with flyers for your development, neighborhood, or friends where, again, if they mention your name, your account will receive a one mouth credit for each referral.
Am I able to put my house number on the trash can?
Yes, with stick on numbers only (like you put on your mailbox). This is very helpful in townhome communities where multiple trash cans from the same company might be together. We ask that you put the stick-on numbers on the front above the hook bar. Do NOT use permanent marker or spray paint anywhere on the trash can. There will be a $35 cleaning fee to remove anything other than stick on numbers. It is also helpful to write down your trash can’s serial number in case the container is lost or stolen.
Do I own the trash cart?
No. U.S. Refuse owns the trash can. It is an asset to us and if you should end your service it will be collected. If it is not returned you will be charged $75.00 for the price of the trash can.
Can I pay my bill over the phone?
Yes, but there is a $10.00 fee for over the phone payments.
